How is Slideout Cart different?
Many slide-out carts can become sluggish or unresponsive after repeated cart updates, especially when items are added or removed in quick succession. Slideout Cart is engineered to stay responsive, providing a smooth experience even during frequent cart interactions.
Does the plugin use Squarespace's native checkout, or does it replace it?
It uses your native checkout. Cartify Square only replaces the cart drawer experience. When a customer clicks checkout, they are seamlessly routed to Squarespace’s secure, native checkout page. We do not process payments or alter the checkout flow.
Do I need a developer to set up the side cart?
No. Every option — theme, typography, free shipping bar, button placement, and targeting — is set from a visual panel. No custom CSS or code required, though you can still add your own if you want to go further.
Does it preserve GA4, Meta Pixel, and other ecommerce tracking?
Yes. Because we use Squarespace’s native add-to-cart API and route to the native checkout, all of your existing e-commerce tracking (GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel) will continue to fire purchase events normally without breaking.
Does it work correctly with variants, subscriptions, and discounts?
Our Shipping Protection supports all Squarespace product types, including physical products, services, group events, consulting packages, gift cards, and digital products/downloads. The only product type it does not support is subscription products.
I run a multi-language Squarespace store — does the slideout cart copy translate?
If you use Weglot for translations on your Squarespace site, the slideout cart copy automatically follows your existing translation setup and adjusts based on the customer’s browser language. No extra configuration needed.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. On mobile, the cart can rise from the bottom instead of sliding in from the side, and you can turn the experience on or off independently for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Can I turn the cart drawer off for certain pages?
Yes. Targeting rules let you show or hide the slideout cart by product, category, or URL path, and it automatically steps aside on your default /cart page.
Is it fully compatible with Squarespace 7.1?
Yes. Cartify Square and the Slideout Cart are built exclusively for modern Squarespace 7.1 templates and Commerce plans to ensure the highest performance and reliability.
Will it conflict with my other Squarespace plugins?
No. Cartify Square is built with an isolated architecture. It does not rely on fragile hacks and uses its own scoped CSS, ensuring it plays nicely with any custom code or other plugins you’ve installed.
If I uninstall the plugin later, will it leave code behind?
No. Cartify Square is injected via a single script tag. If you ever decide to remove it, simply delete the script tag. Your site will instantly revert to the default Squarespace cart page with zero leftover code or side effects.
